Q: What is a registration key?
A: Registration key is a special code containing information on the program's user. That code is unique and is derived from the user's name. After registration we send you a file containing your key via e-mail. It's a plain text file which holds your name (that you used during registration) and registration code. Using the key file the program identifies you as legal user.
Q: What should I do with the registration key?
A: If you have received key file inside ZIP archive you must unpack it first. Then you should place it in the folder where the main executable file of the program (*.exe) is. This would be enough to unlock disabled fucntions and remove limitations of the trial version. Don't forget that the program checks the key every time it runs. That's why it's necessary to keep it in its place (the program's folder) all the time. If you re-install the program in a different folder or into another computer, you should thansfer the key also.
Q: I have received the registration key, but it doesn't work!
A: It's because the program cannot recognize your registration key. There are
several possible causes why it may occur:
- The key is not present in the program's folder.
Key file must always reside in the same folder where the executable file is.
The
program checks out its presence each time it is having been run.
- The key was not extracted from ZIP archive.
To prevent damaging the key by incorrectly working mail programs, we pack it
into ZIP archive (the file ???_key.zip). Prior to using it, you should have
unpacked your key file (???.key) from it.
- You have deliberately or accidentally changed the key file. If you haven't
reserved an unchanged copy of the key, please, contact us and we'll send you
the key again.
- You are attempting to run the program inside its distribution ZIP package
without unpacking it. If so, you have to extract all its files in a directory
first.
If you cannot make the program to recognize the key anyway, tell us
of your problem, trying to describe your actions as thorough as possible, and
we'll try to help you.
Q: I have registered one of your programs earlier, but I have got a little crash recently and lost all my files, including the registration key. What should I do?
A: Contact us via e-mail support@v-methods.com.
To allow us identify you as a registered user, write your name and/or e-mail
you have used during registration. We'll send you your key again. You don't
have to pay for your registration more than once.
Q: Can I copy my registration key anywhere for my own purpose?
A: Yes, you can. You can record copy on a floppy or CD (to save it from
possible loss), transfer to another computer and do whatever you want with it.
Just make sure you don't give it to other people. Only key's owner has right to
use the key. Distributing the key among third party people (even if they are
your friends) you violate the terms of the license agreement.
Q: I use the registered version of JPEG Imager 1.0. But after installing a new version (2.0 or higher) my old key has no effect.
A: With transition to the version 2.0 the format of the key has been changed.
Keys for the new versions are sent out gratis, but only upon request. Write us to
support@v-methods.com and we'll send
you your new key. You don't have to register your program again (and pay for it).
